The Glow Drop

This is the first health and beauty drop I've ever run. Here's everything in it.

The chase items

Two of them this drop. Both are hidden in Glow boxes.

Which means the Max is in the running too. I'm pulling the Glows that go inside Maxes from the same pool as everything else, so a Max has the same shot at a chase as any other Glow. The Overflow and the Soft Box are not eligible.

The Glow

Skincare, haircare, bath and body, vitamins, jewelry (some designer names), and the everyday stuff off the health aisle. Full size product, not sample packets.

Every Glow has at least 20 items in it, and usually a good bit more. I don't pack to a number — I pack each one as full as it will go, by hand, and then I Jenga in whatever else fits. Kendra Scott jewelry is going into roughly one out of every three Glow boxes this drop.

Some of it you'll recognize, some of it you won't. There are names in here already sitting in your bathroom, and there's plenty that arrives without a famous label on the bottle. That mix is the only way the value math works.

Don't take my word for it

These are customers opening boxes on camera. Every one of them paid for their box with their own money. I didn't send these out, I didn't ask for the videos, and I have no say in what any of them say about what they found. Every box is packed by hand and no two are the same, so what these four found isn't what you'll find. That's the whole point of a mystery box — but it's a fair look at the kind of product going in them.

The Max

There are incredibly few Maxes in this drop, fewer than I've ever put in one — and the Max is Friday night only. None are going up Saturday. If you want one, the 18th at 8PM is your only shot.

The handful that do go up are loaded. Every single Max this drop has a complete Glow box packed inside it — the whole $69.99 box, in addition to everything the Max already holds. One box, one price, two tiers.

The Mail Mix is back in the Max as well: items sourced from undelivered mail, blended in with everything else. The Blue Bag Bonus is still included — a sealed premium item, minimum $40 retail, clearly identifiable when you open the box.

So what's the rest of it? Past the Glow, the Blue Bag and a handful of mail packages, a Max goes well outside the health aisle — electronics, home goods and overstock mixed in. It's the one box that isn't built around a single category. The product page has the full picture.

That's why the Max is $299.99 this drop instead of $279.99. There's a full extra box inside it.

The Overflow

New box this drop, and I'm going to be straight about what it is. When I packed this much health and beauty product, I ended up with deep stacks of certain items and not enough variety to build them into a Glow.

So they get their own box at a lower price. Same aisle, same full size product — but you're going to get duplicates. Possibly a lot of them. It will not have the variety of the Glow, and it is not eligible for the chase items.

It's also packed fast. I Jenga the Glow boxes in nice and neat. These I'm packing quick, and that's part of why they're cheaper. Expect it to look thrown together, because it was. This is the one box I don't pack to a count — it's volume, not variety.

Who it's actually for: anybody who goes through product fast, has a full house to keep stocked, or wants something to split with a friend or sister. If you'd rather have ten of one good shampoo than ten different things, this is your box. If you want the surprise, buy the Glow.

The Soft Box

Clothing, accessories and wearables. Extremely limited this drop and not chase eligible — most of my soft goods are spoken for right now.

On sizing: these run the whole range, XS through 3XL and everything in between, and I can't promise which sizes land in your box. A good bit of what goes in doesn't have a size at all — blankets, bags, curtains, pillows and other soft home goods. If you're buying strictly to fill your own closet in one specific size, go in knowing that. If you like soft goods generally, it's a fun box.
